The King's Coronation Celebrations May 2023

Picnic on the Paddock - 7th May 2023

A wonderful time was had by all at the Picnic on The Paddock to mark the celebration of the coronation of King Charles III.
The weather was very kind to us and it was an opportunity to enjoy music and the company of other whilst enjoying the sunshine.
Music was provided by the Enderby Brass Band, Sienna Acoustic and the U3A Ukulele Band. The Ukrainian Sunflowers Choir also put on a performance of folk songs and there was a dance performance from the Countesthorpe Academy Dancers. There was also a performance from the Greenfield School choir.
A big thank you to the Active Arts Group who put on a craft tent for children to have a go at making a crown. They also put on maypole dance sessions accompanied by Rosemary Wright and her accordion. The Countesthorpe Scout Group also put on fun games activities and also worked hard with the organisation of the event and setting up. A big thank you to them.
There was a fancy dress competition – won by a Coronation Quiche!! And a best crown competition. Thank you to the Cherry Lane Garden Centre for donating the prizes.
There was also a Country Park and Fun Family Village Walk Quiz which can be downloaded from the bottom of the page.
And especially to everyone who came along to events to enjoy the special occasion.
