The Parish Council Offices and Library are based in the Village Hall.

Visitor Car Parking and Accessibility

There is on-site visitor parking available. Please note that the rear car park gate is locked at the end of the last event, therefore people using the Village Hall are advised to ensure that their cars are removed at the end of their event.

The Village Hall is a single-storey building with easy access to all areas and with no steps. There is a disabled toilet facility.

Information for Hirers

The Village Hall is licensed for music, dance, performance of live music, performance of a play, indoor sport and exhibition of indoor films. Please note that the Village Hall does not have a television licence.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the Village Hall.

If you would like to view the Village Hall and its facilities, this can be done during Parish Office opening hours which are detailed on our Contact Us page. If the hall is in use, you may not be able to gain full access, so it is recommended that you contact us in advance to arrange an appointment.

The Village Hall can host a capacity of 175 guests.  Please note, however, that this can reduce according to the layout of your function.  The attached sample layouts give an idea of how many guests can be accommodated according to room layout.  

PLEASE NOTE THAT BOUNCY CASTLES ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE PREMISES.

Rooms for Hire

View of Main HallThe MAIN HALL is available for parties, engagements, weddings, fetes, conference meetings, receptions, etc. It has a wooden floor and a small stage.

The dimensions of the room are Length: 52ft / 15m, Width: 40ft / 12m.

The premises can hold a maximum of 175 guests. Please note that capacity levels vary according to the layout of your event. View sample layout.

Equipment available includes:-  Music System with a connection point for laptops. There is also an audio connection to the large wall mounted speakers for music via your laptop or smartphone. We can provide a microphone with stand or mobile mic, for use with the music centre. The music centre has a CD player. Please note that there is a sound limiter in the Main Hall.

There are twenty round tables (112 cm in diameter) and twenty rectangular tables (76 cm x 182 cm), with enough chairs for all your guests.

 

View of KitchenThe KITCHEN can be accessed via both the Main Hall and the Lounge. The hire of the kitchen is included in the price of your booking. There are two ovens, a microwave oven, a fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and hot water boilers. There is a hatch serving the main hall from the kitchen.

A basic set of crockery, cutlery and glasses is available on request. Please contact the Parish Council for further information.

Please note that unless you are hiring the whole Village Hall, the kitchen may be shared between the hirers of the Lounge and the Main Hall.

View of Lounge  The LOUNGE AND BAR Bookings for Friday and Saturday evenings include the use of the Lounge and Bar. The Lounge can be hired without the bar during the week or at weekends up to 5.00pm. The Lounge seats approximately 24 people when set up for the Bar, and 18 people boardroom style.

The Bar is run by our own staff and fully stocked for your event or function. 

Arrangements can be made to bring in your own wine or champagne for your toast or welcome drink, however, corkage is payable. Please contact us for further details.
The Bar service is available until 11.00pm, however, this can be extended to 11.30pm on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need to set up the room for ourselves?
Yes, please bear this in mind when booking your times to include setting up and clearing away.

Can I decorate the room?
We do not have any restrictions to decorations, however it is expected that the facilities are left in the condition that you find them.

Can I have a party with a bouncy castle?
Unfortunately we cannot accept bouncy castles, however, we do accept hirings with ball pits and soft play. Please contact us for clarification.

Can I bring in my own alcohol to my function?
It is not possible to bring your own alcohol to your function. We have a fully stocked licenced bar facility available which also offers soft drinks. Arrangements can be made to bring in your own wine or champagne for your toast or welcome drinks, however corkage is payable.

Do I need to collect a key to open up the Village Hall for my event?
Arrangements will be made for the building to be unlocked for you at the start time of your booking and to secure the building at the end of your event. If you have an event with the bar facility, the Bar Manager will be in attendance from the time you request the bar to be opened.

Can I hire the Village Hall on a weekend evening without the bar?
Friday and Saturday evening bookings after 6.00pm must include the bar. No alcoholic drinks can be brought onto the premises by the hirer. However, with prior notification with the Bar Manager, wine and champagne may be consumed on the premises with a corkage charge.

Can I make a provisional booking?
We can hold a room booking for you for 10 days, so that you can check availability with caterers, DJs etc. If after 10 days we have not received the deposit and hire agreement, we remove the booking from the diary and it becomes available for another hirer.

Can I have a fire ceremony as part of my event?
Candles, naked flames, fireworks, fire ceremony or any smoke creating activity are not permitted inside or outside of the building.

What food warmers can my caterers bring onto the premises?
Electrical food warmers that have been PAT tested can be used, however we do not accept open flame food warmers, including those operated by gas.
