The Rainbow Shop

The Rainbow Shop is the Village’s own Charity Shop

The Rainbow Shop has been trading in Countesthorpe for almost 34 years and has recently benefitted from a complete refurbishment and opened to customers again on May 5th. It is situated next to St. Andrew’s Church and opposite the Co-op in Main Street and was started by the then Vicar Brian Davis and his wife Sylvia in 1984 following shock TV coverage of the desperately poor starving people in Ethiopia. Since this more than £200,000 has been sent to Christian Aid to help fund their many projects all over the world.

The shop sells good-as-new clothing, wholefoods, Fairly Traded products, cards, books, toys, CDs, DVDs, bric-a-brac and other items, and stocks a broad range of information and leaflets on local places and events.

You will be made very welcome by the friendly staff of volunteers, and you can sit and chat and enjoy a coffee, tea or soft drink at your leisure.

The Rainbow Shop is now accepting donations.
