Please note that Countesthorpe Parish Council's ongoing safety programme involves the inspection of all memorials above 2ft in height at Countesthorpe Cemetery
TESTING SHALL COMMENCE IN JULY 2025
Those headstones which are identified as being in a potentially dangerous condition will be categorised in accordance with the memorial safety program and the appropriate action will be taken by the trained operatives.
PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH ANY MEMORIALS OR ATTEMPT TO REPOSITION OR MOVE THEM. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TEST THE MEMORIAL YOURSELF. ANY REPAIR WORKS MUST BE UNDERTAKEN BY A QUALIFIED STONE MASON AND THE PARISH COUNCIL ARE TO BE INFORMED OF THE WORKS BEING CARRIED OUT.
Countesthorpe Parish Council shall be in touch with the registered grave owner, providing them with details and the actions required to make the memorial safe.
We appreciate your assistance and co-operation in ensuring the cemetery is a safe place of everyone to visit.

On the day that the memorials are inspected, any failed memorials will be marked with a warning triangle to indicate that it is an unsafe memorial.
