CHERRY LANE TO HOST ANNUAL CHARITY FIREWORK DISPLAY
- Popular bonfire night returns to raise funds for Scout Troop -

The annual charity fireworks display at Glebe Garden Centre by Cherry Lane, the value garden centre in Countesthorpe, will take place this year on Saturday 4th November.

Cherry Lane welcomed 4,000 people – its biggest crowd to date – to its annual family firework display last year at the garden centre on Foston Road. The event is run by Cherry Lane in conjunction with the Scouts and has been taking place at the Glebe Garden Centre since 1999. At the 2022 fireworks event, Cherry Lane raised £2,500 for 109th Leicester Countesthorpe St Andrews Scout Troop.

Tickets are now on sale for this year’s firework night, which sees the return of the massive bonfire, tasty refreshments including burgers, chips and candy floss treats, music and a fantastic firework display.

Richard Durrant, manager at Glebe Garden Centre by Cherry Lane, said: “Following the huge popularity of our charity fireworks night last year, we are really looking forward to hosting the event once again. The display is one the biggest in the area and a great family night out. The Scouts and staff here at Cherry Lane always do an excellent job in ensuring the evening goes with a bang but is safe and fun for all too. We’re pleased to be able to do our bit to help raise funds for our fabulous friends at the Scouts at the same time.”

Jack Barber, Group Lead Volunteer of 109th Leicester Countesthorpe St Andrews Scouts, said: “The firework display is a much-loved event here in the community and a key fundraising activity for our Group. It is a pleasure to be working alongside Cherry Lane again for our annual bonfire night and we’re looking forward to a brilliant evening for all the family.”

On the day of the bonfire event [Saturday 4th November], the garden centre and café are open until 6.30pm. Gates open at 5.30pm and customers are urged to get there early to enjoy the festivities. The rockets start at 7pm. Tickets are available to buy now. Discounts are available by booking in advance online at www.cherry-lane.co.uk. Tickets are on sale online until 4.30pm on Saturday 4th November and can also be purchased on the gate on the night. Under 5s are free and under 16s need to be accompanied by an adult.

Free car parking is available on a first come, first served basis, although the number of spaces is reduced this year due to improvement works currently taking place at Cherry Lane Glebe. The garden centre is asking customers to be considerate if choosing to park on-site for the bonfire night event, recommending people find alternative parking arrangements and walk if possible, to allow priority parking for those most in need.

A disabled viewing area will be available on Cherry Lane’s easy to access patio next to the café. Space is limited so customers are asked to book spaces in advance by contacting the garden centre.

Glebe Garden Centre by Cherry Lane is at Foston Road, Countesthorpe LE8 5QP and can be contacted on 0116 277 1570.
